Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 1 month old

Since last 2 days my dogs is doing reverse sneezing but he is active and normal so may I know what cause this? Is it because of very cold weather and I take him out on walk or what ? Vet has prescribed cefadroxil 500mg and levocetrizine 5mg including montelukast 5mg but my main concern is I want to know what causes this to him ? Can this also be cure without any medication ?

Simple reverse sneezing does not require medication. Sometimes excessive reverse sneezing is due to an underlying health problem, in which case, medications are needed to clear up that problem. Please read the link below. All I can really tell you without examining him myself is that reverse sneezing is not very common in large breed dogs like German Shepherds.
