My dog has a red spot on her vulva. Home treatment or vet visit?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

My dog has a small red spot on her vulva. She seems to be urinating fine. No problem eating. She licks it a little more than normal. When she was around 1-2 she had yeast infection in her ear. Is this something I can treat at home with cleaning it and topical or is it something a vet needs to treat?

I think you can try to treat it at home first. I suggest you use these medicated pads topically. If after 7-10 days there is no improvement or they are worse then your vet should take a look. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
