My dog has a red sore on his penis. Is it safe to put cream on it?

I noticed my dog has a sore red area on the side of his pens. I have some pornagol cream. Can I put that on it

Hello. Sorry to hear about Sammy boy's sore on his penis. I would recommend just cleaning it with warm water. I would not put Panalog cream on this as if it is infect you will like need an oral antibiotic. If Sammy boy is not bothered by the sore I would give it a few days to heal on it's own, and if it is getting better to just leave it. If Sammy is chewing or licking at the wound you will need to get an E-Collar/Cone so he cannot lick at it, as the bacteria from his mouth and irritation from licking will make it worse. If the wound does not improve over the next 24-48 hours, or if it looks like it has a yellow discharge, or is bleeding or swollen, then have it seen by a veterinarian.
