My dogs have red skin and tongue after boarding. Is it allergies?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 10 years and 7 months old | 22 lbs

I just picked up my two dogs from a sitter where they have been for 2 weeks. When I got them home I found that they both had pinkish red skin on their feet, legs, body and one has a very red tongue. Is this some sort of allergy?

It's possible that both dogs got into something irritating. If the area doesn't clear up in a day or two, worsens, or you see other signs of illness such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite, etc it is best to seek veterinary care ASAP.
