My dog has a red raised sore between her toes, but it's not painful.

It sounds like Cleo's sore has become infected if it's red and full of puss. She could have injured herself, or could have licked the area raw due to irritation. She will need to see a vet for antibiotics for the infection, there are no home remedies for that, and I would have her seen by a vet in the morning. For tonight, you can soak her paw in an Epson salt bath for five minutes.

I am so sorry to hear that Rhett is having such a hard time with ulcer like sores between his toes. It is difficult to know what caused the initial lesions. It is possible there is something stuck between his toes, like a forgein body or there is an allergic reaction. However, when dogs have an itchy or painful area they often kick and infect it and cause, moist dermatitis or "hot spot". Hot spots can be very difficult to heal, and take a long time. The keys to a successful healing process are; A clipped area around the sore Cleaning the sore with a vet prescribed antiseptic Leaving the sore open to dry out (as the moisture promotes bacterial growth) Antibacterial/ hydrocortisone spray prescribed from the vet for healing An e-collar to prevent Rhett from scratching or biting at the hot spot and making it worse Measure the hot spot with a ruler, and compare in a few days time to make sure that it is reducing in size. If you feel like Rhett is not healing well, I would suggest a return trip to the vet. Oral antibiotics and/ or a steroid injection may help to jumpstart the healing process. If this was not helpful, feel free to post your question again with pictures so I can see the specific lesions and be more helpful. I know skin conditions including hot spots can be very frustrating for you as a pet parent and for Rhett. I sincerely hope it starts to heal soon. Warmest regards to you both.

It's more likely to be either an allergy or a foreign body, if a foreign body (usually a grass seed) is suspected it will need to be removed surgically, if an allergy is suspected she will need allergy meds.

There is no way of knowing what it is just based on its appearance. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. At her age, the most likely causes would be a penetrating foreign body or an insect/spider bite. If it is a foreign body penetration, it would most likely be something such as a sand bur, fox tail, or a piece of something sharp which can occasionally be stuck in the skin. Without being able to see it in-person, it is difficult to say for sure if this is the case or not, so I would recommend having Olive examined by a veterinarian to determine the correct course of action. I recommend not allowing her to lick at the spot as it will cause the inflammation to worsen and not do anything to help. She will likely need an e-collar to prevent her from licking the spot, something the vet can help you with when you go. Hope this helps!

This is called pododermatitis. There are interdigital cysts between the toes that can get infected. I recommend soaking the feet in a warm epsoms salt twice daily to draw out the infection. Also use a cone to prevent Opie from licking his feet. If the sores are not drying up and healing then he should get a veterinary exam and mostly likely they will prescribe a course of antibiotics.
