Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 4 years old | 60 lbs
We rescued our 60 lb dog from a shelter last year who had Hookworm. She was given Drontal last year and it took 4 doses to get rid of it.Now, 6 months later she was diagnosed with it again. What is the best medicine to give her? We also have 4 other dogs ranging from 5.5 lbs, to 26 lbs. What preventative can we put them on so as to not contract it.Very frustrated since it seems 2 b a chronic problem with her. Not exhibiting any of the listed symptoms, has good weight, shiny coat. What can we do?

Great question! Deworming medications I recommend include Panacur and Drontal. You can get them from your vet's office. If Appu hasn't been dewormed in a while I would give him one treatment now, and then another in two weeks. The first treatment will kill the adults already present while the second in two weeks kills the worms that had not yet hatched at the time of the first deworming treatment. After that, he should be dewormed every three months. Good luck, I hope this helps!
