Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This may be a benign or malignant growth. This could even be an infection. This cannot be completely assessed just by looking at pictures and usually requires sampling such as fine needle aspiration to determine its origin. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Good luck and have a good day!

This growth needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Zoe to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

Since it came up so abruptly and changed for the worse overnight, I recommend getting her seen by your vet as soon as possible. It may be an insect bite or sting that could get worse since it did change so quickly. She may need some wound care and medication if it continues to develop.
