Is it safe to pull my dog's loose tooth out at home myself?

It depends how loose it is, if it is very loose you can try, but it might be painful. if it's not loose enough she will need to be sedated for that, you will need to take her to the vet.

Hello. I would not pull them. Even though the teeth appear loose,, they will still have fairly good attachments to their dental ligaments. If you pull, this will be quite painful & the resulting tear will cause quite a bit of bleeding. The bleeding will stop, but it can be quite a bit of blood that may need compression or cautery to stop. If Marley swallows a tooth, it will pass with no problems, so no need to worry about this. Based on the attached pictures, I would recommend removal of the carnassial tooth as well as the too the next to it. There is significant loss of bone around the roots and should really come out now. The vet may have recommended referral to a vet with more experience as these teeth can be challenging to remove due to their size, location, and number of roots.

It may be ok to remove if it is fairy lose and comes out without too much manipulation. Use your fingers only when trying to pry it free. Also use care not to get bitten as this may cause some discomfort from your pet kitty. If you can't get it free,then visit your local vet for assistance. If this is a kitten tooth, then it can be removed fairly easily; however if this is an adult tooth then periodontal disease may be lurking underneath the gum requiring a full dental cleaning and extraction(s). It sounds like the tooth you are referring to is the lower left canine when I look at your picture, rather than an incisor. Because it is a canine tooth that is affected, I would recommend that you make an appointment and have your vet take a look. The canine teeth have very large, strong roots and leave large holes when they come out. I am glad that she is still eating, but it sounds like you do need to get her in. Even if she needs to have it extracted under anesthesia, this is a better option than opening her up to a potential infection, which could be very serious if it were to involve the bone of the lower jaw (mandible). There are also other changes your vet can look for that may have caused the tooth to become loose in the first place, such as a tumor of some kind in her mouth. No, this is unfortunately not possible and i am sure she needs more than one tooth removed anyway, she probably needs an extensive dental treatment. i don't think putting her under anesthesia is a very high risk, if she is healthy and once she does a blood test and everything comes back normal, anesthesia for a dental procedure should be the perfect solution.
