Is it normal my dog prefers dry food? How much should I feed her?

As long as she eats and is not losing weight, don't stress out over it. It is true that smaller breeds can be a bit more finicky. Switching foods would not be recommended as it can lead to gastrointestinal upset and reinforce her finicky nature. Instead, try mixing in a bit of warm water or a teaspoon of baby food to stimulate the appetite.

I'd Pepper checked out by a vet. She could have a dental problem causing her to not want to eat her dry food. While it's fine she eats wet food only, because of this sudden change in behavior. it's important to make sure everything is ok health wise with her. Best of luck.

Do not worry at all and your old routine is perfect. Dog food bags always tell you to over feed because you go through it faster, therefore buy more food!! A general rule is 1/2 cup a day for a 10# dog. Treats and bones count also. So if his weight is healthy then ignore the bag and continue they way you normally do

It's very difficult to give an answer for this question as different brands have different feeding instructions, i usually recommend feeding half the recommended amount of both, this way you should more or less reach the correct feeding amount, the portions size is indicated on the food label for both dry and wet food.

This is completely normal. A lot of dogs like to pick their food up and put it on the floor then eat it. This is okay if this is how she wants to eat it. I think she is eating plenty. My rule of thumb is 1 cup per 20 pounds and you adjust depending on how skinny or fat they are. If she is at a healthy weight meaning she has a waist and you can’t easily see her ribs then I would just let her continue to eat 1 cup. Yes! If you are buying a good dry dog food from your vet then this is all the nutrition she needs. Some dogs are grazers and prefer to nibble during the day and some dogs will eat three times a day if offered. So I am not worried about her eating only in the afternoon. It may take several times for her to realize that there will be no more wet food, and that she must eat her dry food. Remember that you are not starving her–she is choosing not to eat. When she is hungry enough, she will. Do not give in or "feel sorry" for her. It will only make it harder to correct.
