Can I give my dog Piriton and Loratadine together for itchy paws?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 3 years and 1 month old | 13 lbs

Hi, My dog has itchy paws and a collapsing trachea. I give him CBD oil for his trachea and started loratadine for his paws...it didn't help with his paws but the loratadine does help with his cough. I was recommended piriton by his first vet but could never find it (until now). Am I able to give him piriton and loratadine together? They're different active ingredients so I would think so but wanted to check first. Many thanks

Hi there,

Loratidine and chlorphenaramine (active ingredient of piriton) can be used together safely. If your vet recommended this combination when examining Velco then this should be fine to do.

Have a good day!
