Why does my dog have pink splotches on her stomach after spay?

If the darkened skin appeared around where she had a spay incision, it may be that the tissue darkened some during the healing process, she naturally had some darker patches that weren't visible before shaving the area, or you are seeing the spay scar from the incision itself, especially if it was done recently. If the area is bothersome to Zeytin, or is very itchy or rapidly changing in appearance, that could indicate something such as a brewing infection or allergy that should be checked out by your vet.

Poor girl, that doesn't look very comfortable. I'd recommend wiping the areas of with hydrogen peroxide once (avoiding the incision for her spay), and then putting her in a baby onsie (maybe two) in addition to an e-collar. The onsie is to protect her a skin if she tries to scratch. If it's looking worse instead of better after 24 hours, I'd recommend taking her back to the vet to see if she need antibiotics. Itching or licking damages skin, which allows normal bacteria on the surface to set up a mild infection, and sometimes the immune system can clear it up if the itching stops, but sometimes oral or topical medications are required.

It is not uncommon for dogs to have a mild reaction to under the skin sutures. As long as there is no pain, discharge, odor, or opening of the areas with suture sticking out, it will likely resolve with time. It takes a long time for sutures to dissolve. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Sasha. I suspect she has a mild superficial skin infection starting on her belly. I would start by bathing her twice per week with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as an oatmeal or fatty acid based formula. This may take care of it as it appears mild. If the lesions spread or do not resolve, she will need to see her veterinarian. Skin infections can be due to an allergy, irritation or parasites. I hope this information helps!

From the pictures, it looks like skin irritation, and I don't think it's caused by something more serious such as from the spay. If Stella is chewing at the area, that certainly can be causing it to get worse. I am concerned about infection in that area, and she does need to see a vet to have this treated. I'd take her into a vet today or tomorrow. I hope this helps!

This may be an allergic reaction to something he came in contact with outside. A bath in baby shampoo can be helpful to clean his skin and coat. If he starts itching you can try benadryl. If there sores continue or spread then he will need to be checked by your vet for prescription medicaiton

It looks like there could be some inflammation at the site of the incision. That could be due to her body breaking down the sutures, or she caused some sort of trauma to the area. If she is acting normal and you don't feel any swelling around that area I would wait and see if it improves. But if there is swelling, drainage, or pain I would worry about a dehiscence (opening of the incision) which would be an emergency and she should see a vet immediately.
