Why is my dog's pink skin suddenly turning dark or black?

  Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This may be due to an infection, inflammatory disease, immune mediated disease, among other possibilities. This would require at least some diagnostics such as cytology and perhaps a biopsy. I recommend that you have Bear evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment.   There can be various reasons that a dog's nose turns pink including age, infections, autoimmune diseases, idiopathic (no known cause), allergies, etc. It may just be a harmless change but you could have your vet examine your dog to determine if treatment is needed.

  What a cutie!! This mild amount of pigment loss is normal as a dog ages. I would not be concerned about it and there is nothing really that can be done about it. As long as your dog is acting like his normal happy, healthy self, you do not need to worry.
  
  If there are any crusts, lesions, or oozing present then this could indicate an infection or autoimmune disorder.

  Hello and thank you for your question.
  
  It is normal for dogs with white fur, especially around the nose to have pinkish skin. Sometimes their noses will be black, or black and pink, and once you start to be able to see the regular (non-nose) skin on the edges it will be pink.
  
  One thing you want to watch out for in dogs with visible skin in this area (or pink nose skin) is sunburn. Limit time in the direct sun if possible
