My dog has pink pimple-like dots on her stomach. Is it food allergy?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 62 lbs

My dog has a rash of some sort on her lower stomach near her genitals. It's kind of like little pink dots or pimples and it's been there for a couple days since I thought maybe she was having an allergic reaction to something, but Benadryl didn't do anything. Now I haven't seen her lick at it at all, she's on a ew brand of dog food though so could it be that?

Hi! Yes for sure it could be an allergy to a new food ingredient, so you could try going back to her original food. However, dogs often get a rash caused by bacterial in this area though as well. This is called pyoderma. If possible, get her checked out by her vet. They might be able to prescribe some cream, or oral medication, depending on how things look! Best of luck with Luna!
