Petco vet vs. private vet: Which is better and more affordable?

Unfortunately, there are no veterinary clinics located in Petco stores in your area - yet. You can get vaccinations done at Vetco vaccination clinics, as well as heartworm and flea and tick prevention. Be sure you get Tars in before he is 6 months of age, and he won't need a heartworm test. He should also be dewormed against intestinal parasites. The Vetco vaccine clinics do offer puppy vaccines. The Pet Coach veterinary clinics in California perform these services. As for if your local PetCo has these services, typically it is a vaccine clinic only. You will need to call your local vet clinic to have all these services done.

I always recommend having a good relationship with a vet so that they can follow your puppy's growth and medical issues over time. Sticking with PetCo isn't an issue, since these clinics are run by vets.
