My Frenchie fell. His penis is inflamed and stuck out. What should I do?

Winston's prepuce does look quite irritated. If he has been mounting or humping it could be that he has caused some irritation, and if he is able to lick the area it could get worse. I would recommend putting an e-collar on him and you should try to prevent him from rubbing or humping anything. It looks like the tip of his penis is visible in the picture as well - if the penis continues to be visible, particularly if more of it becomes visible (called paraphimosis) you should see a veterinarian right away as exposure to air can cause damage to the delicate tissue pretty quickly. If he doesn't seem more comfortable by tomorrow morning or is having any difficulty urinating I'd recommend seeing your vet as well.

Oh dear! Keep him in a quiet room, use some cold packs to reduce the inflammation, if present (do not use ice directly to the part) and if you feel confident try to replace the penis in its protect position using some vaseline cream. It is hard to say for sure from the blurry photo but it appears as though the tip of the penis is stuck out of the prepuce. It looks as though Oliver has paraphimosis (inability to completely retract the penis into the prepuce) and this can be caused by a number of things. Poor guy. Scruffy has likely caused some trauma to his penis, leading to inflammation and this can lead to the penis getting stuck outside the sheath, strangulation of the penis, and even infection. I am unsure exactly how the penis currently looks, but the treatment is dependent on its current condition. If it is stuck outside the sheath then the vet needs to treat this by doing a sugar pack on the penis, or similar method to reduce the inflammation enough to replace the penis back inside the sheath. Also KY jelly is often used to facilitate this. If infection is present then oral antibiotics along with a copious sterile flush (i.e. chlorhexidine solution 3% diluted) of the penis is needed. Pet friendly NSAIDS (i.e. Meloxicam, Rimadyl) are also often need to reduce inflammation and provide comfort.

Unfortunately from the picture you have provided it looks like Patches has developed PARAPHIMOSIS. This occurs when the glans penis extrudes from the prepuce and over a period of time the swelling caused by irritation, drying out and contact with environmental factors causes the penis to swell to a size which prevents it returning into the prepuce. Due to the change in color I am concerned about blood blow and the safety of the tissues. I would take Patches to the veterinarian immediately for medical intervention. The vet will make Patches for comfortable by eliciting pain relief. The veterinarian team will then attempt several approaches to safely return the penis to the prepuce. This can include lubrication and careful manipulation. The use of medications to reduce the swelling may also be used. Occasionally a small surgical procedure is required to correct the problem. It could be he is suffering from paraphimosis, which is an inability to retract the penis back into the sheath. This can quickly turn into an emergency situation, as constricting of the blood flow will lead to a larger engorgement of the penis, necrosis (dead tissue), and potential damage to the urethra. If his penis hasn't been out too long (less than an hour), you can try to put it back yourself. First, thoroughly clean the penis, making sure there is no foreign material (such as fur) that is wrapped around the penis. Take a bag of frozen veggies wrapped in a towel, and apply it to the penis for five minutes at a time to try to reduce the swelling. Packaged peas work very well because they are mobile around the penis. Then apply a lubricant such as KY Jelly onto the penis, and very gently try to move the penis back into the sheath. Very gently try to push the penis back into the sheath, or try to gently pull the sheath over the penis. If this does not work, or if the penis has been outside the sheath for more than 30 minutes to an hour, you will need to take Lukas into your vet. Best of luck.

It looks like Spanky might have a urethral prolapse in your picture. I would recommend having him examined by a veterinarian right away since the prolapsed tissue could become damaged and it could affect his ability to urinate normally. A veterinarian might place some suture around the penis if they are able to reduce the prolapse, but other times more in-depth surgery is needed.
