My dog is peeing constantly and bloated. Is something medically wrong?

My dog is constantly urinating and feels bloated without drinking water. Could there be something medically wrong?

This could be a sign of cystitis, an inflammation/infection of the urinary bladder. A check up and appropriate investigations and treatment are necessary and would include urine analysis and radiographs.
Differentials could be inflammation (idiopathic, urinary stones, infection). Antibiotics may be necessary.

That could be a sign either of a urinary tract infection/inflammation or to a more systemic disease causing increased thirst (endocrine disease, kidney failure and so on). Blood test and urine analysis would confirm or rule out all these clinical suspicions.

These signs might be compatible with a urinary tract infection/inflammation. Stress related (idiopathic type of inflammation) infection and presence of crystals are the most common causes of it. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed.

Old dog drinking lots, peeing often, and crying in pain. What's wrong?

I would have your veterinarian evaluate Daphane's urine in case she has another urinary tract infection (UTI). That can cause an increase in water intake, urgency to urinate and burning while urinating or leaking urine. It would also be a good idea to check some bloodwork. Hopefully all that's going on is a UTI and some antibiotics will have her back to normal shortly. Good luck!

Why does my dog keep straining to pee, leaking, and going often?

That's a tough case. If the ultrasound did not include evaluation of the kidneys and ureters (tubes leading from kidney to bladder), it may be worthwhile to have this evaluated using ultrasound or CT. Some patients have ureters that are implanted abnormally in the bladder wall leading to urinary accidents. The second question would be whether or not he has crystals in the urine which may lead to irritation and accidents. The third question is the thickening in the bladder wall...what is it? Can it be aspirated? You need to discuss these questions with your veterinarian or possibly a veterinary internal medicine specialist.

My dog is drinking, bloated, tired, irritable. What to do at home?

A couple of dieases come to mind with the symptoms you are describing - diabetes and Cushing’s disease. Both of these can cause excessive drinking, a distended abdomen, and lethargy. The irritability Breezy is displaying is probably because she is just not feeling like herself. I would recommend taking her to a vet as soon as possible. Your veterinarian will probably recommend running some lab work and possibly doing some X-rays to determine what is going on. Until you are able to get her to the vet try to keep her as calm and comfortable as possible. Offer her plenty of fresh water as long as she is not vomiting it up.
