Why are my dog's paws red, swollen, blistered, and constantly licked?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 5 months old | 17 lbs

My dog has red paws and has like blisters on top of his foot his back foot is now swollen and really red and he will not stop eating or licking it. He did have a red spot on his neck but seemed to go away.

Hi, it could be that Rocky has a yeast that has overgrown on the skin and it is causing some dermatitis. You could try bathing his feet once or twice a day with a shampoo that will help with itchiness and keeping this Yeast under control. In the UK we use this particular shampoo a lot https://amzn.to/34Vhepr . Hope this helps !
