My puppy's paw pad wound won't heal and keeps bleeding. What to do?

Sometimes they can be closed, other times bandaging may be best. Ideally wounds should be addressed as quickly as possible to allow for optimal healing. Waiting another day may make closing the wound impossible if it's an option. Make sure that Moose cannot lick the wound, this may require an e-collar (lampshade cone of shame). If it is painful or continuing to bleed he should be seen tonight.

It's pretty serious that Leo's paw has been bleeding for a week. I'm not sure what caused it but bleeding for a week requires an immediate vet visit. I don't see anything obvious in the picture, but to make a diagnosis, I would have to see him in person. I'd take him into a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Poor girl. Yes I would recommend taking her to the vet for this bleeding mass. Often times masses on young dogs are histiocytomas (benign tumors) and can spontaneously regress within 2-4 weeks. However getting this cleaned properly and a short course of anti-inflammatory medication, antibiotics and a temporary bandage are likely needed to help manage this wound in the meantime. She will need to see her veterinarian. It may require surgery to heal depending on the size of the wound. If not, bandaging and antibiotics could be needed. In the meantime, place an E-collar on her to prevent her from licking the wound. Keep the area clean and dry as well. I hope this information helps!

Poor Gummy Bear! I'm concerned that it's still bleeding and from the pictures, it appears he could need stitches. I think the best thing to do is take him into urgent care immediately to get this treated. I hope this helps.

I would have panda examined by a vet. A wound like this could be caused by skin infection, ringworm, mange mites, chronic licking from allergies or pain in the foot, etc. The vet will look closely at his skin and may take a small sample to examine under the microscope. Then they can prescribe an appropriate treatment once the cause is known.

If this sore has persisted and does not seem to be getting any better despite your efforts to manage it, I would recommend Ace see his veterinarian soon. Your veterinarian may take a small sample of the area to determine what it is and if it is concerning or not. Treatment will depend on what the diagnosis is. If your veterinarian suspects it is infected, Ace may need to be on antibiotics or other medications as needed. I hope this helps!
