Today at an off-leash dog park, a lab mix looking dog bounded up to mine in an excited way and they sniffed each other. My own dog was interested in saying hi too, but didn't seem as excited as the lab mix, if that's any behavioral help. For a few seconds it seemed ok, but suddenly the other dog got aggressive and started snarling, barking and biting my dog (no injuries luckily). The other owner and I broke it up, but I was wondering why dogs sometimes do that. Could it be miscommunication?
