Why is my stray dog panting and hot with a leg wound after a fight?

I use to feed one stray dog today he came to ke and I notice wound on his leg must be dog fight I offer him as usual his food but he refuses to eat and was licking the wound .. he was hot looks like having fever also panting alot in between he took nap and in nap sleep also his breath was very fast I give him paracetamol tablet to ease him down but I am scared and I am home now and I dont know why he was panting alot ? What reasons could be behind his panting also kindly see the attach photo

Hello. It does look like the wound needs some stitches, but it also does not look too badly infected. There could be many reasons for the dog to pant rapidly, including lung infections & parasites, heartworm disease, or other infections in the body. Be careful with the paracetamol because too much can cause serious liver issues in dogs ( we are unable to dispense dosing advice ). If you can have him seen by a vet, this would be best, otherwise, keep him cool & hydrated & keep the wound as clean as you can. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
