My dog has a painful hot spot after daycare. Should I see a vet?

Looks like a hot spot, skin infection. These are itchy and painful. They have to be shaved, cleaned by your veterinarian and then be placed on antibiotics. He may need a steroid injection as well. If your veterinarian isn't open tomorrow, id go to ER cause these are uncomfortable.

If the area is continuing to enlarge or if Garret seems uncomfortable I would recommend that you have him seen by your veterinarian. Your veterinarian may clip and clean the area and prescribe medications to help it heal. In the meantime I would recommend that you try to prevent Garret from scratching at the area. You can put a t-shirt on him to protect that area.

That looks very painful. I would be concerned about a possible insect bite causing that. It looks a little bit swollen for just a normal hotspot. I recommend Shiba be rechecked as soon as possible to ensure is nothing more serious. This is because some bites can cause tissue sloughing and the necrosis as well as issues like bleeding.
