My dog cried out in pain, found a bump. Is it a tick or blister?

It is difficult to know for sure without seeing it. I don't see a picture included so if you tried to upload a picture then it didn't work properly. With a tick, you can usually see some legs so if you don't see any legs then it could be a skin tag, especially since he seemed to be in pain when you tried to remove it. The best thing would be to have your vet take a look at it to determine the exact cause and treat. Continue to use a flea/tick prevention, like Frontline, NexGard, Bravecto, etc.

Based on the pictures, it does not look like a tick. It looks like a skin mass. Have your vet take a look at him to determine exactly what it is. Your vet may want to aspirate or biopsy to diagnose.

It doesn't look like a tick to me, but it's hard to tell. It may be a mole or wart that has gotten irritated or caught on something to make it bleed. Hello. It is impossible to see if this was a blood blister or tick, but I would continue to clean the area 1-2 times daily for a least a few days. My concern is if this was a tick, you might have squeezed the ticks contents into your dog & this may incite an inflammatory reaction or even cause one of the tick diseases. So watch Thunder over the next couple of weeks. If the blood spot returns, it may be a small tumor that needs to be evaluated. If Thunder becomes lethargic, shows some signs or joint pain, or loses his appetite, see your vet & ask to have Thunder tested for tick disease. This may be a cyst or a tumor, or a pimple (little abscess). You should have it examined by your veterinarian as tumors should be removed ASAP, especially if they are of a black color. An abscess can usually be treated with antibiotics and/or be lanced, and a cyst can be evacuated. Your vet may want to do a fine needle aspirate (he takes some material from the bump with a needle and then looks at it under the microscope) to determine whether the mass is concerning. You can also watch it for a few days and see whether it goes away again. I don't think it is anything terribly worrisome.

It's hard to say what it could be from a picture. I would recommend having Ted examined by a vet to see what could be going on. It could be a bruise, infection, a mass, an insect bite, etc. The vet will do a thorough examination of all of Ted's skin.
