There is a possibility that your dog tore a cruciate ligament in his knee. I would make him rest, ie only leash walk him to do his business outside, and otherwise not let him run or jump around. If the lameness is not gone tomorrow or significantly better, then I suggest you make an appointment with your vet for an exam. Your dog will need anti-inflammatory medication to reduce inflammation and pain.

Unfortunately, if he is not really using it, it does hurt. I would be concerned about a cruciate ligament rupture in a big dog that was playing for a few hours yesterday. If it just started you can let him rest for a few days with minimal walking and minimal physical exercise, if it does not improve within 3-4 days you will have to take him to the vet in order to get it checked and treated, he might need pain killers for a few days. if the vet think it's something more serious such as a fracture, joint injury or foreign body, he might recommend to have an xray done as well.

Poor Ozzie! There are many reasons Ozzie could be limping and it could be anything from a sprained toe to arthritis to a hair line fracture. If Ozzie is not wanting to use the leg at all, I recommend to have him examined tomorrow. When pets will not use the leg at all, that is much more concerning for a more severe injury or for more severe pain. If Ozzie will use the leg, he should definitely see the vet if he is still limping on Monday. I recommend STRICT rest until he is given the clear by the veterinarian. That means no walks, running, jumping or stairs. He should also be crated anytime you are not watching him. Not resting your pet can allow this to get worse. I hope this helps.
