Why is my dog not eating after starting pain meds for a leg injury?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 12 years and 1 month old | 37 lbs

My dog sprang his leg and his vet prescribed home medicine but he hasn't been eating his food it's been 4 days he drinks water and a lil his treats but won't touch his food

I'm sorry to hear Brownie is unwell. I am concerned that the pain medicine is causing a stomach upset making him feel nauseous and not want to eat. Many pain medicines can do this as a negative side effect. Stop giving medicine to him and take him back to your vet to discuss what to do. They may need to run a blood test and give him stomach protecting medicine.
