My dog has a non-painful leg blister. When should I see a vet?

I can see the small, raised, slightly red hairless lump on Hazel's paw in the photo. This may be a bug bite, localized skin infection, or a mass (which is less likely in younger dogs). I recommend having the area examined by a vet to determine the underlying cause and begin the appropriate treatment. In the meantime, you can get Hazel an E-collar or "cone" to prevent her licking the area and causing further trauma and irritation.

Dogs don’t generally get blood blisters like a human does. These lesions are often related to an infection or certain types of skin cancer. Thor should wear and elizabethan collar at all times to protect the area from licking. I recommend to have call his lesion examined by his veterinarian. It may be some minor irritation or infection. Monitor for growth or spread or for discomfort associated with the site. If it doesn't begin to resolve in 2-3 days, then have Lexi physically examined by your veterinarian. If she is licking or chewing at the sot, place an e-collar (cone) on her.

This bump on Aspen's leg could be a cyst, a lipoma, a benign tumor, or a malignant tumor. Any suspicious bumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the bump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would take Aspen into the vet tomorrow to have the bump examined and diagnosed so it can be treated.

It looks like it was healing under the scab, however I am a little concerned about the area on the leg where this lesion is. THis is very close to the knee joint, which may mean that your dog had pain in this area and therefore was gnawing on it. I recommend you have this examined by your veterinarian a there may be a problem with his knee joint.

This looks like a localized allergic reaction. I suggest you apply some topical hydrocortisone cream to the area 2-3 times per day. If after 5 days it does not look better then I suggest you get Luna to your vet for an exam. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

This could be a benign growth, a cyst, or it may be from a foreign body that has lodged in Luna's foot. I do think it's worth getting checked out by a vet, but it's not an emergency. Give her vet a call to see when you can get her in to get it examined. I hope this helps!
