Will dog mast cell tumor surgery affect his ability to walk well?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 7 years and 10 months old | 40 lbs

I wanna ask about the mast cell tumor surgery. My dog has 2 mct one is on his chest and 1 on his leg since 2017 Sep to now, I'm considering if the tumor surgery will make him can't walk well so see if you can give me a professional recommendation, thank you :)

It depends how deep the tumors go, if they are superficial the surgery will definitely not affect his walking ability. not removing these tumors is pretty much a death sentence to your dog so i don't see any alternative to the surgery anyway.
