The photo is taken very far away which makes it difficult to tell what is going on here even with zooming in a bit. This could be a tumor but it could also be a cyst or an abscess. It is best to take Cornelia to your vet so they can do an in-person examination. They will be able to advise you better as to what it may be. Something like this is extremely difficult to "diagnose" via a photo. It really needs to be seen and felt in person.

I would recommend having Kita examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I'm not sure if you tried to attach photos, but if so, nothing came through so you might want to try again. A swelling on the side of the face could be a few things depending on the location. It could be an abscess from a wound or bad tooth, an enlarged lymph node, an insect sting, or a tumor. Your veterinarian can perform a fine needle aspirate, where cells are collected with a needle and examined under a microscope. By identifying the type of cells, your veterinarian can make a diagnosis and start appropriate treatment. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

This looks like an infection to me, probably related to her skin folds. you need to take her to the vet to get it checked and treated as soon as possible, this will likely require antibiotic treatment.

This is a tumor. It's hard for me to tell the location on the dog from the photo. If it's growing quickly then it's more likely malignant and could spread to other parts of the body. If it's been there a long time then it's more likely benign. At the base it looks inflamed and may open up and drain. That would be messy and make it more likely to get a bad infection. If your dog is healthy even at age 13 I would have this removed, and they can biopsy it to determine the type of tumor. My dog has a growing lump. What could it be and should I worry?

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Is that supposed to be the same growth in both photos? The growth if the first photo looks suspicious for a malignant tumor. The tissue around the mass is swollen and the mass itself is raised and ulcerated; both can be signs of a malignancy. I cannot tell you for sure though just by looking at a photo. The second photo looks like a benign wart. In general, any new lumps/bumps should be examined by your vet. The first photo looks worrisome and I think you should have it checked in the next few days.

Dog has a growing, firm bump on shoulder/neck. Is it a tumor or cyst?

Thanks for visiting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This appears to be a skin mass/tumor and can be either benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). My hunch tells me it is likely a sebaceous gland cyst (benign tumor); however, it is always best to get masses tested through your vet to be sure. Masses like this are often removed during another surgical procedure, such as a teeth cleaning. Removal should be considered in case this thing ruptures or causes irritation to Sydney in the near future. I hope things work out well for your pet Sydney. Take care.

You really need to take Mr. Brown to a vet for an in-person examination. I suspect it may be a hemangioma or hemagiosarcoma. My dog has a growing lump preventing walking. Abscess or cyst?

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Without seeing the mass myself, it is difficult to say for sure what it could be. If you have not had a veterinarian take a look at this, I would recommend doing so and having some testing done to help identify what this could potentially be. The veterinarian can start by inserting a small needle into the mass and try and get a good sample of cells to look at under the microscope. The most definitive way of telling what this mass could be is to send out a tissue sample of the mass. If it is causing discomfort, I would have it removed and send it out to find out what it could be. If it is an abscess, it likely needs to be drained and then Diamond will likely need to be on a course of antibiotic therapy. Again, I would have a veterinarian take a look at this so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction!

My dog has a movable lump under skin near his penis. Is it a tumor?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be a benign or malignant growth. There is no way of knowing what it is just based on its appearance. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign.
