Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | 4 years and 3 months old

Are these blood work tests SGPT , Creatinine and BUN are enough to check liver and kidney condition of my pet ? Just for precaution I plan to go for these tests so are these enough to check condition of liver and kidney ? Or I should also go for some other tests and if so then please mention the test name

The SGPT (ALT), BUN and CREA are fine to do as preliminary tests. If they are normal, that is great! If there are any abnormalities with these values there are other tests that can be done to evaluate kidney and liver health but you would have to ask after you get the results for us to be able to properly recommend any other tests.
