Hello, sorry to hear about Luna. It looks like she has intertrigo or skin fold pyoderma. This is generally a superficial skin infection from excess friction and moisture of the skin folds that leads to excess growth in normal skin bacteria/yeast that then becomes a local infection. What you may need to do is place an e-collar over her head so that she is not scratching at the area and then you may apply a light film of triple antibiotic to treat the infection. It could be skin fold dermatitis, either bacterial or fungal. Until he gets to see the vet, you can try wiping it with a little hydrogen peroxide every day. You can also apply a little Neosporin, but he will probably lick it right off again.

This looks like a bacterial and possibly yeast in his skin folds from his saliva. This is really common in larger dogs with large lip folds. You could try to use some medicated wipes like miconahex-triz wipes. If it isn't healing, then I would have your vet take a look at it. He will likely need some antibiotics and possibly an anti-fungal medicine to help this heal. I hope this helps!

This is a skin fold dermatitis (inflammation) likely to be caused by an infection. A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any scratching (if any). I am so sorry Spanky is having this issue. I would recommend bringing Spanky to a veterinarian. The reason for this is to not only clean up the lesion, but to also dispense medication and see if we can figure out the cause of this. This could be from allergies or from a cut or scratch that Spanky kept bothering with and it just got infected.
