My dog is limping, not eating, and not drinking. Is it serious?

Limping means Rocky is in pain, and if he's not eating as normal and not drinking, that tells me he is in a lot of pain. Unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him. Many human ones are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I'd take him into a vet now to get treated.

Poor Girl! Without seeing her, I cannot say whether or not it is serious, but I am definitely concerned. She could have gotten bit by something or broken a bone and be in a lot of pain, both of which could make her not want to eat. I would try to have her seen by your vet as soon as possible so they can determine what is wrong before she gets any worse. I worry if she got bit by something poisonous that it may be more difficult to treat later if she gets worse. Your vet will be able to do blood work and even x-rays if needed to help her feel better. Lameness, loss of appetite and energy are definitely concerning. This can be caused by tick borne diseases such as Lyme disease. There are also certain bone and joint diseases that only affect growing puppies, and need to be ruled out with an x-Ray. I recommend having your appointment sooner rather than later, you may want to call your vet and ask for an earlier appointment.

It sounds like the leg is injured, possibly a sprain or tear, or a broken bone. It would be best to bring Dozer to your vet to have the leg examined and X-rayed to check for this, especially if he won't put any weight on it at all. Until you can get to your vet, keeping him on kennel rest with leash-only walks to go potty is best to avoid further irritation to the injury.

If Paxton is not eating at all and is limping, this is a sign he is in pretty bad pain or badly injured. I would try to find a vet that can see him sooner, or get in to an emergency clinic (your wait may be several hours as he is not an immediate triage case). Until you can get him into a vet, keeping him on strict bed rest to avoid further irritation or injury of the leg, and offering some bland meals like boiled chicken and rice may help get him eating and reduce his pain, but it is best to get into a vet ASAP if he still refuses.

I recommend a full physical exam to identify the pain and discomfort which is causing him to limp, he may need xrays to investigate fully. Keep his exercise restricted to lead walking only in the meantime so as not to aggravate the injury

I would watch Rukis for 24 hours. If you notice any swelling or if he is still limping tomorrow, it is a good idea to get him seen by the vet. I have seen dogs not act painful with broken legs. It could also be muscle sprain or a torn ligament causing him to limp. Try to keep him confined for at least 24 hours so that he can rest whatever it is that is causing the limp. If you find a sore spot, you can use an ice pack wrapped in a towel for 15 minutes at a time, and use gently massage on the area as he will allow. Unfortunately no human OTC medications are safe for use in dogs.
