My dog has limited back leg movement. Should I see a vet now?

It sounds like he is in a lot of pain, and it's quite concerning that now he's having trouble walking with his back legs. He could be arching back to relieve pressure off another area of his body that is painful. Tonight, rest him. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a leash, and bring him right back in when he's done. Take him into the vet first thing in the morning. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. He may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. Best of luck.

A problem with his spine would explain the issues he has been having with both the front and hind legs. He could have a slipped disc. I would take him into a vet asap. The vet can diagnose what is causing his problem and can treat him. I would suspect the vet will want to do x-rays. I hope this helps!

Limping means Rocky is in pain, and if he's not eating as normal and not drinking, that tells me he is in a lot of pain. Unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him. Many human ones are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I'd take him into a vet now to get treated.

Poor Rocky! Yes, I would take him into a vet as being in pain isn't normal for a dog of any age. Especially since he has been in pain for a couple of days, this is something that needs to be seen right away. It could be he was injured playing with your other dog, but there could be another problem causing his pain such as pancreatitis or a prostate problem. Please take him into a vet right away.

Hello, sorry to hear about Rocky. Given he had 5 injections, his bum and legs may be a little sore and he is unwilling to move. However, if he is moving, but dragging his rear legs, then I would have him evaluated by your veterinarian immediately as this could be associated with a severe injury. Alternatively, other causes may include a heavy burden of fleas infection, tick bite, or an immune mediated effect from all of his vaccines. Great question! I would definitely take her into the vet for an x-ray since Moka has been limping for the past few days. The leg is obviously bothering her, or else she wouldn't limp at all. Keep in mind as well that limping is a sign of pain, and you don't want her to be in pain any longer. It could be that she has arthritis, which would get worse when the temperature drops at night, or it could be something more serious like a torn ligament in her knee. I would have her seen by a vet tomorrow if possible. I hope this helps :-)

Oh dear! This is a very serious problem - I'm afraid she really has to see a vet right away. She may have a herniated disc in her back causing the paralysis, or some other neurologic problem affecting her spinal cord. She may be in pain, or she may have no feeling at all in her rear legs - it's impossible to say without an exam. She needs immediate treatment to have a reasonable chance of regaining function in her rear legs, I'm afraid there's nothing you can do at home that will help her.
