My dog is lethargic, won't eat, reverse sneezing after surgery. Vet?

Poor Squeakers! Lethargy is a very general sign of illness, and because he is eating and drinking normally, I would keep an eye on him for now. He could be a little stressed from the vet visit yesterday even though he had the ace, and it might be showing with the lethargy. Should he still be lethargic in 24-48 hours, or he stops eating and drinking normally, then I would bring Squeakers back into the vet for a health check.

I'm sorry Paws had a blockage, but I'm glad he's home. It's normal that he won't want to eat tonight and he might be a little more lethargic than normal. If he becomes very lethargic, doesn't eat at all tomorrow, stops drinks, and/or starts vomiting food or water, then I would have him seen by a vet.

Given the lack of clinical signs besides lethargy and inappetence, there is not much else to go on here. I would consider obtaining a rectal thermometer tomorow and checking for a fever (above 102.5), which might suggest the presence of an infection or inflammation. If you detect a fever, I would definitely suggest getting Rusty to the vet sometime soon. If there is no fever, but his condition does not get better by Monday he should be taken in for an examination regardless. You can certainly try and feed Rusty something that would normally be considering irresistible just to see if he will accept it, rather than just his normal dog food. Anyway, hope this helps and that Rusty is feeling better soon. It is entirely possible that he might just feeling a little under the weather or maybe could have eaten something he shouldn't have that upset his stomach. If this is the case, the symptoms should pass with short time.

I would be concerned that Bell hasn't returned to normal after 12-24 hours. While heat injury is possible usually dogs have issues sooner than now such as seizures, diarrhea, bruising and/or collapse. She could have a problem with her GI tract, something stuck in her esophagus or even a respiratory issues causing her changes. If she continues to cough, seems lethargic/lack of energy, or has any vomiting, diarrhea or continues to have a decreased appetite today she needs to be seen by a veterinarian. I would try calling your veterinarian today as they sometimes have an oncall service or an emergency veterinarian on call to answer questions as well.

He may not be eating due to dietary indiscretion from eating the bird or mouse or it could even be due to a gastrointestinal obstruction. I am afraid that if he is not drinking water he may be becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and most importantly start him on medications to make him feel better. If she has been like this for more than 24 hours, then it would be best to take her to the vet. She may be reacting negatively to her medication and need treatment to get better. If she is currently on medication, then it's best to stop it at this time until you are able to speak with your veterinarian, or have her seen by a veterinarian. I suspect this could be related to pain and possibly an infection with the description of the swollen toe. I recommend to have him examined today. If there is an infection, this could get worse quickly. He may get antibiotics, as well as pain relievers. Wookiee should also be wearing an Elizabethan collar at all times to prevent him from licking the toe and making it worse. Best of luck.
