My dog has red hives on chest after eyelid swelling and antihistamine.

It's probably an allergic reaction to either an insect, something in the environment or something he ingested. if it seems to just be getting worse you need to take him to the vet right now in order to get a steroid injection.

This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog becomes lethargic, take him to the vet in order to get an antihistamine/steroid injection. from your description at this moment i think he is probably fine, but this can change so monitor him closely.

Poor Zara. I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian for a good physical exam. Dogs can have allergic reactions which will cause hives and itchy skin. She might need something stronger to help calm her hives and itchy skin that only a vet can prescribe. Hope that helps

You should call your vet and give him/her an update. If the hives started after giving the antibiotics then your vet may want to switch to a different antibiotic in case it is an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. Your vet may also want to prescribe a corticosteroid to help treat.

These look like urticaria, or hives, and they are probably due to a contact hypersensitivity or an allergic reaction. If the hives spread after Benadryl or if you notice swelling around Cash’s face and eyes you should see an emergency veterinarian since sometimes corticosteroids are necessary to stop the reaction. It can be very difficult to determine what caused a reaction, but if you used any new shampoos or sprays recently I would avoid them in the future.

They may resolve on their own in a few hours. If Blue is itchy, contact your veterinarian and discuss antihistamine use. If they worsen or spread or if he develops difficulty breathing, take him to the nearest veterinary ER. Poor Gia! Please call a vet near you immediately to have her seen to help treat the hives. Since she's had 7 days worth of medication and the hives only appeared today it is not very likely that they were caused by the antibiotics, but I recommend telling your vet about them just in case. Gia may have ingested something she is allergic to or have been bitten/stung by something she is allergic to, and your vet can help direct treatment to prevent spreading of the hives and worsening of her symptoms. If you notice any difficulty breathing that is an emergency situation, as it could indicate a severe allergic reaction, and requires immediate vet care. Good luck and I hope she feels better soon!
