Take him out to toilet on a lead only and bring him right back in when he's done. You can try icing his hips with bag of frozen veggies or an ice pack (be sure to wrap the package in a towel to protect his skin) to see if that helps him more comfortable. You can leave this ice pack on for 5-10 minutes at a time. Keep him as quiet as possible, and try to keep Tank from moving around. Take him into the vet first thing in the morning. I am afraid there are no human pain killers that would be safe to give or recommend for a dog that is not in our care, as most NSAIDs available over the counter can have serious side effects if your dog happens to be suffering from liver or kidney problems. The best thing to do is to keep him quiet in a room so he cannot run or jump, and to take him out on a leash only. Pain is usually not so bad when Freddie rests.
