My dog came back with hair loss, scabs, and won't eat. What's wrong?

I would worry about mites, either demodex or scabies, ring worm or a bad skin infection. If it is a skin infection the Vet will likely prescribe a medicated shampoo and antibiotics. If he has mites they will prescribe medications. As of now I would just wait for the exam, I would say bathe him but it would be ideal for the Vet to see his skin as is. Try to feed him some boiled chicken or watered down canned puppy food. Good luck!

Vomiting and inappetence can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. She may be having side effects to the medications administered. Hair loss and scratching are likely due to allergies. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Shelby evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid she is likely becoming dehydrated. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This looks like very severe allergies or a condition like mange though other possibilities like immune mediated disease still have to be considered. This can be differentiated based on physical examination and basic diagnostics. This must be really painful and for that reason I highly recommend that you have Callie evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible. Her decreased appetite is likely due to discomfort. They would be able to check for these possibilities and most importantly, treat her accordingly. Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. The skin looks normal, the patches are most likely normal variations in skin pigmentation. Excessive scratching is often related to allergic problems and poor appetite is not specific for any disease. In fact, most of unwell dogs go off food. Poor appetite can be caused by stomach upset, viral or bacterial infections, fever, pain, behavioural problems and more. Please, take Tadashi to your local vets for an appointment after the weekend. Full clinical examination will help to establish if Tadashi needs any further treatment or diagnostic tests.

Skin issues like you are describing can have a variety of causes, including skin parasites (fleas or mites), allergies, an infection, or an underlying medical issue (Cushings disease, diabetes). I would recommend he be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for his skin lesions, have any necessary testing done (bloodwork, skin scrape, culture) and start on any treatment that he may need. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Dollag looks like she has a skin infection. She could have microscopic mites, a bacterial, or a yeast infection. I recommend taking her to a vet for an exam and to test the skin for the above things. I would stop using human shampoo as dogs skin and ours have different pH levels and can make things much worse. The decreased appetite could be from the diet change or because her skin is so uncomfortable. At this point in time, there is nothing all natural you can do until the infection is cleared. After it is addressed you can talk to your vet about what caused the infection and ways to prevent them in the future. This may be medicated dog shampoos or other medications.
