Why is my dog losing hair, drinking, eating more, and has red eyes?

I am sorry your dog is not feeling well. The information provided and picture don't really match. If a patient is drinking more and losing weight I would be concerned about endocrine diseases like diabetes and cushings disease. However the picture looks more like possible skin mites or an underlying autoimmune disease I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian to help you resolve the issues. They most likely will need to run basic bloodwork and possible a skin scrape to determine if mites are present.

Your pup's hair loss could be several things including allergies, endocrine disease, parasites, hormonal changes, poor diet or the normal twice yearly shedding of the coat. The only way to figure out the cause is to have him examined by your veterinarian who may need to run some diagnostics to start figuring out whats wrong. You can rule out parasites by using an oral medication like Simparica. There are a couple things you can do at home and they can help but they may not address the underlying cause. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing his diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. Eyes can be red for many reasons including an injury to the cornea, an infection, dry eye, uveitis, allergies or glaucoma. I recommend to have him examined again by the veterinarian. The other symptoms could be related to the same conditions so I recommend to play it safe and have her examined. Skin infections can be caused by bacteria, yeast, or both, and need long courses of oral medications as well as frequent medicated shampooing. Regarding her increase in thirst, that could be related to things like diabetes or kidney disease. In older unspayed females, if the uterus becomes infected and needs surgical removal, increased thirst can be one of the first signs. I would take Storm to see a veterinarian for a full physical exam when possible.
