My dog is foaming at mouth, shaking, and not moving. What should I do?

It sounds asFrankie is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. the foaming from the mouth is probably a sign of nausea. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

From what your are describing it seems to be a seizure and I would recommend to have Pommerian checked by your veterinarian as soon as possible. Make sure she didn't ingest anything she shouldn't have (i.e. human medication, herbicide, detergents,...), if you find something suspicious bring it with you so the vet can check it. If she isn't vaccinated, rabies is also a major concern especially for your health so please be careful and and take her straight to your vet.

Hi. This sounds like it could be serious. I would worry about either some seizure activity, some severe nausea, dizziness, or even ears. Lots of possibilities. But this needs to be addressed quickly. I can understand being worried. Foaming out of the mouth is never a good sign. The immediate concern I have is rabies. If he's never been vaccinated against rabies, there's a potential he could have it if he came into contact with a rabid animal recently. It could also be that he is nauseous or has a dental problem. Because I can't see him in person to rule out rabies and because I don't know his vaccine status, do not handle him if he's not vaccinated. Call your local animal control for help with him. Isolate him from other people and animals until they get there. Now if he is fully vaccinated against rabies, then he won't have it but I would still have him seen by a vet today. This could be a form of seizure activity. I recommend getting your dog seen by your vet as soon as possible for an exam and lab work. If you can get a video of the episode, please do, so your vet will know what you're seeing. Sustained or repeated seizures can cause the body temperature to rise to dangerous levels and increases the risk of brain damage. When you have a chance, take a look around and see if you can find anything he might have gotten into, since poisoning is one of the causes of seizures. If he has a history of liver or kidney disease, this is also a potential cause. Sometimes we never know why a pet has a seizure. If he does have a series of seizures, your vet will want to do an exam and bloodwork to try and determine a cause and potentially put your pet on anti-seizure medication to lessen the chances of this happening again in the future.

This could be either because of something that is bothering him in his mouth cavity or because of an ear issue (foreign body or severe infection), you need to take Duke to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked.
