Can fish oil or omega-3 help my dog with Vestibular disease?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 13 years and 2 months old | 25 lbs

My dog has been diagnosed with Vestibular disease. I got a good answer from a vet yesterday that we need to let this improve on its own. I wanted to ask if giving her a supplement like fish oil or some omega 3's for brain health would be beneficial. We are seeing slight improvement (it's been 4 days but want to do everything possible to help her. Thank you so very much for your time and attention

You can certainly give a fish oil/omega 3 supplement. Just be sure you use on made for dogs so that the oils are in the correct ratios. Dogs and humans have different needs.

Hope this helps. Best wishes.
