How often and at what specific times should I feed my dog each day?

So I usually recommend feeding two meals per day, one in the morning and one in the evening. This will give you time to get him outside to go to the bathroom before you need to leave for work or go to bed. If he is used to free feeding, it can take a bit of time to make this transition. Put the food down for 15 minutes in the morning and let him eat. Then give him another 15 minutes to eat in the evening. Good question. Because Cherie is now an adult dog he only needs to be fed twice a day, once in the morning and once at night for a total of around 3/4-1 cup daily. Feed him three times a day the amount specified on the bag. Take his food away ten minutes afterwards so he learns that he has to eat then or it is gone. If he missed a few feeds it is not really a problem.

Once daily or twice daily feeding is fine, whichever makes them happy and works into your schedule. There are a few medical disorders that may require changes to the feeding schedule but if they are healthy it is unnecessary to change it up now! The only thing I would avoid is free-feeding, where they have constant access to a food bowl, as dogs (Beagles in particular!) can often over-eat and become obese quite easily.

I would feed Tyson in the morning not long after he wakes up, then feed him every four hours. As an example, feed him at 7am, 11am, 3pm, and 7pm. Once he turns three months old, feed him morning, noon, and evening :-)

A good schedule for Apollo would be feeding him when you wake up in the morning, feed him again at 12 and then dinner at 6.
