My dog played with feeder mouse, rabies shot overdue. Should I worry?

You need to get Max vaccinated against rabies ASAP! It is possible for him to get rabies from a rat but not likely. Any mammal can carry the rabies virus but it is more common to get it from bats or other wildlife, not really rats. Don't take any more chances and get his vaccinations as soon as possible! Hi there. Do you mean, he had his rabies vaccine a little early - since it wasn't actually due until Nov. 15th? That won't cause any issues at all, and shouldn't be anything to worry about. It's very common to give vaccines a few months early in some cases, if that works out more easily to get everything on the same schedule. :)

It wouldn't hurt to get a fecal done in the next few months, or just preventively deworm Bandit to ensure there aren't any parasites transmitted. Keeping him up to date on flea and tick meds is also a good idea since mice can transmit these parasites as well. Otherwise, I would just keep an eye on him and watch for any issues such as diarrhea, stomach upset, visible worms in stool, or itching and scratching. If you notice any other strange symptoms, or feel he needs an update on any boosters sooner, contacting your vet is best.
