Dog's face breaks out with bumps after wet grass. Is it an allergy?

It's not likely from rolling on the grass, This is probably caused by an allergic reaction. first of all make sure you de-flea Angel regularly every month with a high quality spot on (ex. Advantage) as fleas are by far the most common reason for these reactions. If the fleas are not the problem, it could be an allergic reaction to food or an environmental factor. this is more complicated to treat and will sometimes require medications such as Steroids, anti histamines or cyclosporin in order to stop the allergy.

Oh dear, poor Tomo! Both the bump on his nose and the red bumps around his mouth look most consistent with hives. Hives occur most commonly as a result of an allergic reaction. Unfortunately, we often are unable to determine the precise cause of these reactions, but they can occur due to insect bites or contact allergies with different grasses, leaves, chemicals, among many others. Most allergic reactions can be managed with antihistamines, such as Benadryl (here is some more information: https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/benadryl/ ), but some more severe reactions also require corticosteroids, such as prednisone. I strongly recommend discussing medication options with Tomo's vet or even taking him in for an exam to assure that there are not other more serious issues present. It sounds as if your dog has a skin infection, most commonly caused by an allergy, a skin mite (Demodex) or fleas. 

The allergy could be a due to a protein in your dog’s food or an environmental allergy like to dust, pollens, grasses, etc. 

The allergy causes your dog to itch and chew at the skin which breaks down the skin barrier. This then leads to infection. Skin infections are typically characterized by large areas of hair loss, redness, crusting, flaking, and pustules. A thorough skin examination by your veterinarian should be able to determine the cause of the itch so it can be treated appropriately. Your dog will most likely need antibiotics to help clear up the infection and possibly an allergy/anti-itch medication like Apoquel, Atopica, or Cytopoint to give some relief while the infection clears up. A medicated shampoo may be beneficial as well. I would also recommend he be on a good flea control routinely too. Once the infection has resolved a long term allergy medication (like Apoquel or Cytopoint) can be given on a regular basis to prevent any future problems. Hi there, Yes, it does sound like Ronald is having an allergic reaction to the grass. Sometimes bathing with an aloe/oatmeal shampoo can help alleviate what's going on and decrease the rash, but often dogs need a small dose of steroid to stop their body from having such a reaction. Poor guy. He is likely having an allergic reaction to something he was exposed to outside. You can give him an antihistamine to see if this improves things. As long as his breathing is ok and there is no swelling around the neck, he is likely to be fine after 12 hrs or so as the reaction subsides. You can also try bathing him in an oatmeal or hypoallergenic shampoo to help calm down the skin. If the skin reaction does not improve or worsens by tomorrow then have your vet take a look at him and they can administer stronger medications to subside the skin reaction. It will take a bit of investigating on your part to figure out what he could have been exposed to to cause him to break out into hives.

Poor Bowzer, it looks like he is having an allergic reaction. He should be see by a veterinarian so that they can administer allergy medications and control his symptoms. Other signs of allergy include a swollen face, vomiting, and lethargy in addition to the hives you are currently seeing. More severe complications with allergies include difficulty breathing.
