Can dogs safely eat cooked or raw fish, shrimp, lobster, or oysters?

Hello. I do not think this will do any harm except for some possible gastrointestinal upset. Since this has been processed, it hopefully is free from bacterial & parasitic contaminants. Just watch Ray for the next few days for any diarrhea. This would be about the only thing that might bother him, but otherwise he should be just fine. Yes, as long as there are no bones and the fish is cooked with no seasonings/extra grease/oil (which can cause pancreatitis), dogs can eat fish. If you notice that they are having diarrhea or vomiting after eating it, definitely discontinue and consult with your vet. Happy camping!

Yes, you can feed your dog fish. You should cook it, though. Do not feed only fish, as it may cause some metabolic problems and can cause thiamine and vitamin E deficiencies. Fish is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, which dogs need to stay healthy. But you can give fish twice a week as part of a commercial dog food diet.

Hello. Yes, they can, but should they? Hot dogs are loaded with fats, sugars & salt & not very nutritious for us or for our pets. An occasional treat or taste is fine, but I have seen too many dogs get hooked on fatty meats & refuse to eat their regular diet. As a result, we see obesity, pancreatitis, organ damage & skin problems. If you want to treat Piper, or use a small piece as a training aid, that is fine, as long as she eats a good balanced dog food diet daily. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would avoid human foods if you can. Once you go down that road of adding human food it is almost impossible to go back. If you need to add human food I would still with boiled chicken or hamburger as it is more bland then corned beef. Consider changing dog food brands or adding water or canned dog food to his dry food. Healthy dogs do not choose starvation and if you hold steady and firm that dog food is all he gets then he will learn. Dogs are smart and will hold out when they know something better will come along. A lot of times the dogs train the owner not the other way around. Be careful with what human foods you feed as they can cause an upset stomach or pancreatitis if too high in fat. I wish you the best!

Eggs can be a great supplement to a dogs diet but the whites should always be cooked as there is a substance in them which can inctivate biotin, an important b vitamin. Egg shells can be a good source of minerals such as calcium but I would recommend no more than one shell daily and to ensure it is well broken up so the sharp edges do not cause injury

This may cause some vomiting and diarrhea. If you notice any of these symptoms and they persist for over 24 hours I would take the dog to the vet so he can be given some medication to stop the vomiting/diarrhea.
