My dog has ear infections from licking. Why are both dogs vomiting?

These are general signs of stomach upset, she feels that something is not right in her gastrointestinal tract and she tries to make it better by licking the floor (usually when a dog has access to grass they will ingest grass). She is probably suffering from a gastrointestinal infection, possibly due to something bad she ate. withhold food for 12 hours then offer her boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on her normal food. If she continues vomiting or is not eating, take her to the vet to get treatment.

Diarrhea and throwing up can be caused by a food sensitivity, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, an intestinal blockage, bacterial infection, viral infection, the weather, food change, stress, etc.  I would fast Olive Oyl for 24 hours and then put her on bland food for two days, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to regular food slowly over a few days. If this does not clear up the diarrhea or if the vomiting increases, or if your dog gets lethargic, she needs to see a veterinarian for an exam as there may be something more serious such as an infection going on. Licking her feet excessively can point to an allergy.

The two problems (gastrointestinal signs and ear canal infection/inflammation) may be related as both of them may be caused by an allergy. Most common ones are usually caused by food , flea and environmental causes. Ear canal inflammation, infection can be treated easily by applying some medicated (antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications) ear drops. If the problem keeps coming back, allergic disease can be investigated with some skin and blood tests.

It's likely that the ear infection and diarrhea are unrelated. Regarding the diarrhea, it could be caused by a sudden diet change, ingestion of human food or garbage, or parasites. Canned pumpkin can be helpful to add fiber to the diet. You may also want to try a bland diet (white rice and lowfat boiled chicken). If this does not resole the diarrhea, I would recommend seeing a vet who can perform a fecal test to rule out parasites and prescribe an anti-diarrhea medication. If the ear infection does not resolve with vinegar and water, it may be caused by a bacteria or yeast. No, the diagnosis is not correct, diarrhea has absolutely nothing to do with diarrhea. It sounds as your dog is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

An upper respiratory tract infection is usually indicated by coughing, sneezing, eye and/or nose discharge and bringing up white foamy material. The diarrhea may or may not be related. They will need to see their veterinarian if their symptoms persist. A lot of times an antibiotic will be prescribed. In the meantime, encourage them to continue drinking so that they do not become dehydrated. It is generally safe to hold a dog off of food for 18-24 hours to rest the GI tract. It's quite serious your dog hasn't been able to keep anything down for two days, and he may have a severe GI illness, could have a foreign body, pancreatitis, or may have eaten something rotten, He could also have an ear infection. At this point in time, and due to the severity of his symptoms, this cannot be treated at home. You must take him into a vet now.
