My dog dry heaved foamy spit after kennel cough. Could it be bloat?

No, it's not a sign of GDV. The most common disease causing this symptom is a viral/bacterial infection called Kennel cough, this disease usually resolves without treatment within a couple weeks but if the cough is too severe it is recommended to go to the vet in order to get cough medicine and antibiotics.

Kennel cough does not normally lead to vomiting and persistent vomiting should be investigated by your vet as soon as possible as it can be related to bowel obstruction or twist and can rapidly lead to severe dehydration

If there is any abdominal enlargement or pain he needs to be assessed by a vet as an emergency - non-productive/white foamy vomit is very concerning in a dog which is eating as it can indicate an obstruction. A pancreatitis blood test may also be required depending on the results of the physical exam

No this wouldn't cause bloat. Bloat honestly is a spontaneous flipping of the stomach that happens randomly and typically occurs in large breed deep chested dogs such as Great Danes. It often occurs after running or excessive play. And it causes your pet to not be able to stand (lateral recumbency), excessive panting, excessive vomiting, and labored breathing, so if Kita is acting normal then she is fine. She may have had a bit of a gassed up stomach, which resolved by itself. She would likely not have slept through the night and would have been pacing. She would also not have felt happy enough to play ball today. I would watch her closely, and if you see her abdomen swell (sounds like a drum!) or if she starts panting and pacing, then she needs to be taken to a PetER right away as this would be an emergency.

I'm sorry your dog is having this issue. Kennel cough is typically a dry, almost "honking" cough that can produce a white foamy/mucus substance- they can cough so hard it causes a gag reflex. It usually starts at one time of day and then gets worse and more frequent. Do you have other dogs in your home or neighbor dogs that play with your dog? If so, are they gagging or coughing? Kennel cough is very contagious thus can spread to other dogs in close contact. If you are noticing this, I would contact your vet so they can determine if your dog needs an antibiotic. Some other possibilities for what you are noticing are other respiratory infections, allergies and/or a reverse sneeze or there may be something stuck in your dogs throat (like a grass seed or part of a rawhide chew). Also, some dogs can simply drink too fast especially when it's very hot- this can cause some water to go down "the wrong pipe" and then a gag response. If your dog continues to gag or, especially if the gag becomes more frequent or severe, I would take him back to your vet. Your vet can listen to your dog's lungs for sounds of infection and may want to take a chest X-ray as a next step in working this up. I hope your dog feels better soon!

With a history of dry heaving, vomiting and constipation I would be worried about a few different potentially serious conditions. For example, a forgein body, such as a sock, lodge in his gastrointestinal tract causing a blockage, gastric, infection and a condition called bloat. Here are the signs to watch for just in case, if you notice what seems to be the start of bloat, take Luey to the vet straight away. The sooner he receives help the better the outcome. 

Early signs;
 Acts restless
 Increased Drool 
Stomach appears swollen
 Look anxious
 Look at his stomach
 Paces
 Tries to vomit, but it is unproductive 

 As the condition progresses;
 Collapse
 Pale gums
 Be short of breath
 Feel weak
 Rapid heart rate Due to the potential seriousness of the causes of these clinical signs I would advise taking Luey to the vet as soon as you can. They will perform a physical exam and palpate his abdomen. They may also need to take X-rays to visualise what is happening with his gastrointestinal tract. Best of luck to you both.
