My dog drank Sprite. Is soda safe for dogs? What should I do now?

As long as the soda did not contain any artificial sweeteners like xylitol then Yogi should probably be okay if he only ingested a small amount. It looks like Fanta is caffeine free so that should not be an issue. Please monitor Yogi for any signs of ill healthy like vomiting, lethargy, and inappetence. Hello there! A small amount of root beer should not cause any major problems. Sometimes, when dogs ingest a new food, it can cause stomach irritation and mild vomiting. This usually resolves itself as long as it is a small amount of non-toxic food. Some diet sodas contain a sugar substitute called xylitol, that can be toxic and require a vet check. A quick google search showed me that there's only one niche brand of sugar-free root beer that has this ingredient. You are probably safe, but check the ingredient list for "xylitol" just to be sure. Otherwise, none of the ingredients in the major root beer recipes I just found online looked alarming at all. A small amount of tea is unlikely to cause any ill effects as there is not enough sugar or caffeine to affect them. Even if it was a full glass, unless it was sweetened with an artificial sweetener containing xylitol, I would not worry.

There is likely very little grape juice in this lemonade. The overall fruit content is very low, and then the grape juice in this lemonade is also only a very small part of the fruit content. You will most likely not have to worry.

There is likely not enough caffeine in the Mountain Dew to cause serious toxicity if that is your concern. You may see vomiting and/or diarrhea. This can usually be managed at home with a 24 hour fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly to the regular diet afterwards. If it has been several hours and she is behaving normally, she will likely be fine. Monitor for lethargy, vomiting/diarrhea lasting more than 24 hours, loss of appetite, restlessness, tremors or seizures. These symptoms should be addressed by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER.

Dogs and cats appear to be more sensitive to the effects of caffeine than people. Depending on the amount ingested, signs of hyperactivity, restlessness, vomiting, elevated heart rate, high blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, tremors, and elevated body temperature may be seen. In severe cases, seizures, collapse and death are possible. I would recommend to have her immediately checked by your local veterinarian.

Check the ingredients. If one of them is xylitol, get your dog to the vet immediately. Xylitol tricks the dog's system into thinking they've gotten a big dose of sugar, so the pancreas pumps out extra insulin which will make the dog's blood glucose level drop dangerously.
