My adopted dog is on doxycycline for URI. When should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 46.6 lbs

My baby ollie I adopted a few days ago came home with a URI And they had him on doxycycline 250mg .....but he developed a stuffy nose and runny nose clear mucus i would say what should i do

Congratulations on adopting Ollie. Many times dogs will get upper respiratory infections after being adopted. I would recommend having a follow up with a veterinarian within 2 weeks of adopting him. This can just be viral since on an antibiotic that helps with upper respiratory infections and can take up to two weeks to clear.

If the discharge turns green or yellow, Ollie doesn't want to eat, becomes lethargic or develops a fever I recommend a veterinarian As soon as possible. Otherwise you can make an appointment with the first two weeks of adopting him.
