My dog has diarrhea and weird rear discharge. Is it serious?

If it does not get better and becomes diarrhea entirely, then things like colitis for example would have to be considered. For this reason, I recommend that you monitor him for now. Diarrhea with mucus can be due to a variety of reasons, including intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion, food intolerance, or another underlying issue. I would recommend having her evaluated by her regular veterinarian, have any necessary testing done (fecal analysis, etc) and start any treatment (probiotic/antidiarrheal) that she may need to resolve it. I suspect that what you describe could be actually liquid feces or if not it could be anal sac fluid which can be expressed excessively in cases of gastrointestinal issues.
