My dog has diarrhea and isn't eating. What should I do right away?

From your pictures, his skin does have the appearance of an infection. This can be due to an allergy to something in his diet (more likely if he has vomiting and diarrhea as well) or the environment. Mites can also cause this appearance as can a fungal infection known as ringworm. His veterinarian will need to examine him and may recommend skin testing. In the meantime, you can bathe him with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as an oatmeal or fatty acid based formula to soothe the skin. I hope this information helps!

The skin infection may be due to a resistant bacteria, so you may need to play around with various other antibiotics to see which works best. I would also recommend using a topical approach using the following products and see if this helps. As for the diarrhea, I would also add in a probiotic such as Fortiflora and test the stool for intestinal parasites. 1. Douxo PS Chlorhexidine combination shampoo 2. Malacetic conditioning spray 3. Essential 6 spot on by dermoscent Mojo is a breed where we do see skin infections and abnormal skin problems show up commonly. The diarrhea could be from something such as a dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, GI inflammatory disease, cancer, etc. You could use Tylosin powder (an antibiotic) and see if this helps calm down the diarrhea. It's likely that the ear infection and diarrhea are unrelated. Regarding the diarrhea, it could be caused by a sudden diet change, ingestion of human food or garbage, or parasites. Canned pumpkin can be helpful to add fiber to the diet. You may also want to try a bland diet (white rice and lowfat boiled chicken). If this does not resole the diarrhea, I would recommend seeing a vet who can perform a fecal test to rule out parasites and prescribe an anti-diarrhea medication. If the ear infection does not resolve with vinegar and water, it may be caused by a bacteria or yeast. I recommend getting him in to see your vet as soon as possible about the loss of appetite and diarrhea. Puppies that young can dehydrate easily and their blood sugar can drop quickly to life-threatening levels. The diarrhea could be caused by parasites, a bacterial or viral infection, or possibly swallowing something he shouldn't have, irritating the GI tract or, more seriously, getting stuck and causing an obstruction. The skin I'm less worried about, though that can be addressed at the same visit. Many puppies develop what is called puppy pyoderma, which is roughly equivalent to acne in humans. Most outgrow it and it rarely gets bad enough to require medication, but sometimes antibiotics and therapeutic bathing is needed to help them heal more quickly.

Poor pup! He should see a vet right away, as it's recommended to see one when a dog is both vomiting and having diarrhea. He could have a severe GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, have pancreatitis, or a foreign body. I would take him into a vet now, who can diagnose what is causing his symptoms and treat accordingly.
