My dog has dandruff and hair loss after meds. Can I shave him?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 13 days old | 24 lbs

My dog is having dandruff right after he undergone medications. His eyelashes are all gone and the fur besides his mouth. The vet already gave the shampoo and soap that we need to use but nothing happened. Am planning to shave my dog's hair? Is it ok?

Hello, sorry to hear about Trinx. If he is having a slow hair regrowth, then it may take him longer to regrow his hair. If you do shave him, depending on which medications he had, then his hair may not regrow or take a long time to regrow. I hope this helps and best of luck.
