My dog has cuts and rash from new puppy. Is he sick or infected?

The area on the side of his face looks like it has a bacterial infection causing the raised bumps. Your puppy should see your veterinarian to determine if this is the case. They may also want to do a skin scraping to look for any skin mites that may have started the problem. It looks like your pup will need prescription antibiotics to resolve this problem.

This looks like it could be a very mild skin infection or what is sometimes called puppy pyoderma. It's similar to acne in people and most puppies will have a mild case and outgrow it. It could also be a small abrasion or bite from and insect or other pet. Keep an eye on it and you may consider bathing him with a mild, oatmeal based puppy shampoo to help soothe his skin. If the area spreads, gets red, starts oozing, or if your puppy has any other adverse symptoms, get him in to see your vet.

I hate to hear that Roo is having such a bad run. Unfortunately based upon the symptoms you describe, I think another vet visit is in order. The panting can indicate distress and since she can't talk, it's important to be safe and have a physical exam preformed. Her skin issues are likely related to an underlying cause. At her age, parasites or a food allergy are most common. Environmental allergy is more common than food allergy but usually affects older dogs. Address this current issue first. Then I recommend to discuss using a product such as Simaprica to rule out parasites and feeding her a diet such as Royal Canin Hydrolyzed protein for a food trial to know if it's a food allergy. The lesion in the second image appears to be infected. The area will need to be shaved of all surrounding hair, scrubbed with an antiseptic such as dilute betadine or chlorhexidine, and then an antibiotic will be required (most likely a systemic one). George will also have to wear a cone to prevent him from continuing to cause any self-inflicted trauma to the area. Your vet will be able to get a better look at the lesions to see if he can figure out what may have started everything to begin with. He may want to obtain some skin scrapings to take a look at under the microscope. Hope this makes sense.

It looks like Bruno has a skin infection. Parasites like mites and fleas can cause irritation of the skin that can lead to bacterial infections. If he has not had skin scrapings performed to look for mites, that would be my recommendation. If there are no mites, and he has been treated for fleas, then perhaps the topical medications he is on are not enough, and he needs an oral antibiotic to control the infection. I hope this helps. My biggest suspicion is that these two ate something that really irritated their skin and set it up for infection. Certain house plants are a common culprit. There is not any contagious diseases that I can think of that would cause these sort of problems. The best things you can do is have them evaluated by a vet. They will be better able to find the cause of this and offer the best treatment. For now, it's good to keep the area clean with a medicated dog shampoo (you can usually get these in the pet store). Clean with cool water for five minutes, twice a day, wiping gently. With good cleaning, the infection usually clears within two weeks. I hope that helps and they get better soon.

This is probably due to an allergy, although it could also be infection or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment, then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics).
